Jacob Asbridge joined The Caring Center of Wichita team in May 2017. He earned his Associate Degree of Science from Coffeyville Community College (CCC) in 2011, his Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice in 2013 and Master of Social Work in 2017, both from Wichita State University (WSU). Jacob is a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) with 6 years combined experience in trauma informed care, family centered practice, and individual and group settings focused on at-risk youth, children in the foster care program and families.
Originally from Wichita, KS Jacob moved to Coffeyville, KS to pursue an education in Criminal Justice. While attending CCC, he worked as a Psychosocial Aide in a group setting with children and youth who lacked social and independence skills. When he moved back to Wichita, KS Jacob began working as a Family Support Worker in the child welfare field. He was instrumental in the development of an onboarding and orientation program which teaches and trains new child welfare social workers and support workers.
Jacob earned his Eagle Scout in December of 2008. He is an Alumni of Phi Theta Kappa International Honors Society (PTK). While in PTK he was the Eta Gamma Chapter President and later elected Kansas Regional Vice President, in which he received awards and recognitions in both positions. He is also an alumni of the Phi Delta Honors Society for Social Work Students.
Jacob currently volunteers as a Big Brother for Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Kansas, a program which personally affected him when he was growing up. He has been matched to his Little Brother since 2015. Becoming a Big Brother is just one way he can continue to feed his passion of working with children, while also giving back to his community.
Jacob is dedicated to meeting the client where they are at in life. He provides exceptional care and implementation of effective treatment plans, ultimately providing each client with an individualized counseling experience.
